Default Help! Dashboard Stains

I used Goo Gone on the dash to remove sticky residue from masking tape left on the dash. Now there is a glossy film on my dash from Goo Gone -- can't get rid of it. Looks worse than before =(

Any suggestions on how to remove the glossy film left by Goo Gone?

Btw, what is the dash made of? Vinyl? Some rubber?

Thanks!

Default Dash if made of vinyl.

In my experience, goo gone does leave a residue. I would get some rubbing alcohol, and try to remove it. If it remains shiny, it's also possible that it's not residue, but you did some permanent damage. I would never use goo gone on vinyl for prolonged periods. It's a pretty strong solvent that doesn't really belong on vinyl.

Don't get too worried yet...try the rubbing alcohol, and see if that removes the residue.
