Default How can I get the headlight plastic clean?

It seems to be getting dull on the outside.
I can feel something building up on it and I tried cleaning it and nothing gets it off. Does anyone here know what I can do to clean them ?

Default Are you sure they aren't pitted?

Road debris will take their toll on plastic headlight covers. Once they have become pitted, there is nothing you can do about it. Plastic headlight covers will typically yellow over time as well (not sure about polycarbonate lenses though). I've got a 10 year old beater with plastic lenses...completely yellowed out. Again, nothing you can do about this either...it's just age and exposure to UV light.

If you're inclined, you could buy a set of Euro headlights, and throw on some xpel to prevent the pitting.

Default You can find them typically at motorcycle shops

It's great for keeping plastic parts clean but like RKA said, plastic lenses will eventually yellow out with UV light exposure. If that's the case and it's not film/build-up on the plastic itself, then it's going to be hard to get rid of.

Default Right. Hmmm...

you can buy a plastic polish (which will have some mild abrasives in it, you can try Plexus, alcohol based cleaners, I've even used a claybar on the plastic lenses.

Or just get euros and call it a day! :-P

Default Meguirs plastic polish and plastic cleaner are awesome.

It's a 2 step system, cleaning and then polishing. I've been using it for years on cell phones, dash cluster, motorcycle and boat windshields, anything that's clear plastic, including headlight lenses. I'll bet there's other stuff out there that's better, try looking at 3M's website, but FWIW I've liked the Meguirs stuff a bunch.
