A lot of that is dust and debris. Spraying a cleaner on it will just work that dust and debris into the fabric. Use a vacuum to get it as clean as you can. Then use a fabric and upholstery cleaner, apply it to a towel, and rub is over the area. Do not apply the cleaner directly to the area...you don't want to over saturate the area with cleaner, in case there are any adhesives behind the fabric that hold it in place (cleaners can break down the adhesive).
Personally, I love Griot's Interior Cleaner. I use it on the carpet, plastic, vinyl, leather, headliner, etc. It's an all purpose cleaner that is pH safe for leather. Get it at ...

http://www.griotsgarage.com</a

Leaving the windows and/or roof open a lot will draw dust and dirt into the cabin. The headliner is one area that is seldom cleaned...so it accumulated dirt over time. Here we can see kam is like a plant...he likes his cabin nice and sunny! :-)
