Are you talking about the stuff that Car Brite makes?
I've heard of Butter Wax (brand name), but have stayed away from it because I understand it's silicone-based. Your story is interesting...but I'm still concerned about using a silicone-based product on my paint. Do you have any such concerns? And, why do you think it has such a short life once applied? You said the older you get the lazier you get, but using a wax that needs to be reapplied every two weeks is hardly my idea of "low effort" maintenance! I think that alone will keep me away from it, but I'm still interested to hear more. Thanks for the info.

Car Brite's Butter Wax

Re: agreed megiuars is just a very marketable brand name, their products are nothing special
I would disagree, I have been using their products for years and for the money they have the best thing going. You can spend 3 times as much and get a better product but your reach a point of diminishing returns. By the way, I am a professional detailer and have been for 8 years so I have used allot of products.

I think for most people 90% of any 1 detailing companies products are useless

You have to develop a system that works for you. My system uses Meguire's #3, #7, #9 and #26 wax that's it. I might switch out wax but not my main compounds, glazes and polishes.
