is there a way to remove it easily?

Try WD40 or lighter fluid first, and if that doesn't work try some #7 or IHG

door handle is plastic, be careful..

I have a scratch/discolored rub mark on mine which they tried to professonally buff out. Because it's plastic, it's not really dooable (in my case). Too much buffer work and it will discolor the entire handle. Only surefire fix is a replacement handle or touchup paint.
