Default Matching the gray color in 2003 A4 Lowers

I drive a 2003 A4, brilliant black with gray lowers trim. The gray on my rear bumper was scraped up by a valet along with with rest of the bumper. My body shop repaired the scrape and painted the gray lower. The problem is that the color seems a little off when compaired to the gray in the lowers on the trim of the doors and frint bumper. The body shop told me that they can't get a color code on the gray to match it exactly. Needless to say, I am not pleased. Does anyone know how to match the gray in the lowers??

So I'm basically screwed unless the body shop tinkers until they match the shade of gray in the plastic?

I may have to do that. The only other option is to paint all the lowers black, which would probably look better anyway. But I really don't want to spend another $600 to do that. Would you have any idea how much the lower plastic portion of the bumper would dun to replace. The owner of the body shop is a friend of mine and I feel bad telling him that they have to replace it.

The bumper is one piece that includes the lower gray part

Sounds expensive to replace

I would give the body shop the option of ordering a new one, or paintaing all the lowers black

That's pretty much what I am thinking. I know a lot of people have been painting the lowers to match the color of the car. However, would altering the vehicle in such a manner be deemed a violation of the lease?

Default Odds are no...2004.5 come with the lowers already painted...

My vehicle is leased and I plan on painting the lowers soon.
