Default Permanent Water Spots

After washing my car this morning I noticed what look like water spots all over the hood of my car. I washed the hood thoroughly and dried it right away so these are not your average water spots. You can see some of them in the picture, just where the sunlight is reflecting off of the hood. There is another on my pic poster. Sorry for the bad pics. Does anyone know how to get rid of these? I tried waxing and buffing an area with the spots with no luck. Thanks!

Default Wax won't remove anything, much less water spots. First, try some

vinegar/water solution (50/50) and let the soaked rag sit for a minute to attempt to dissolve the spots. If that doesn't work, pick up some Omega Special Touch polish and see how that does.

Default Meguire's sells a water spot remover and it works fine

It is called Hard Water spot remover...or Mirror Glaze 47. Many uses include boats.

Default Use a fine compound from 3M then follow up with their

swirl remover then hand glaze it and wax it with a high quality wax such as collinite I use that on my black car no water spots ever. also make sure you always use MF towels and applicators.

Easy there tiger, compound is probably not necessary here. Always go light first.

Default aight .. :) I *think* your car is black ..

After I switched to collinite wax I dont have a need for compound much anymore since the wax works so well

Default My car? No, but still....he shouldn't jump straight to compound without trying...

some sort of SMR or polish first. So far, all he's done is wax, which of course isn't going to get rid of his problem.
