Default I knew that would be the reaction

This is my 3rd black car. I always had access to a hose, garage ect....

I even used to hand wash my '95 Corvette in the dead of winter by hooking the hose up to the hot/cold faucet in the mud room off the garage. So yes, I do understand having black = swirls, but aren't there brushless car washes too? I haven't seen any around me, but they do exist.

I am going to have to either go to my Moms or go to the self service wash bays and bring a bucket. And they even post signs that say 'No Bucket Washing' SHEESH

Default Problem with the "brushless" is the quality of the wash mitts and drying towels

They are re-used over and over and lots of dirt/particles get stuck in them, hence the swirls.

Now with a silver or lighter colored metallic color those brushless washes are an option. But for black absolutely not, IMO. There is one close to my house that I bring my Pathfinder to but never my Audi.

I also have a self serve bay close to me, used that this winter when I had a ton of salt on the car to rinse off.

Default I picked up my plates yesterday and got a free wash...

I told my sales person I was going to wash my car after we leave the dealership. So he was says he will take us across the street to the enterprise place. He drives my car into a stationary bay and a big machine goes back and forth over my car washing and drying. I didn't want to say no. He was being nice.

I'll probably wax it today. I don't think it's been waxed. New or not, I could feel the paint wasn't treated when I was using my shammy to finish drying.

Default

there are car washes that are detergents only, no brushes. I use them from time to time...

Default Yup, I have been going to PT for a few weeks now and it is helping. Getting epidural tomorrow.

The Dr. and the PT both say the steroid shot is the way to go to get the inflamation down (and to stop the pain). Then more PT to hopefully make the pain stay away.

The PT also said if for some reason I do end up needing surgery to go to a neuro-surgeon for it.

Black cars just show all the swirls, even minor ones. Even being careful still produces minor swirls
