This has been an old and on-going argument. Personally, I use the GEPC to clean crud (water stains, bugs, old wax) off the paint after washing, skip the hand glaze and then wax. My car is silver, which is much more forgiving. With a darker car, I would consider glazing just prior to waxing.

Mine's Santorin and I've had better results doing GEPC followed by IHG rather than.....
the other way round. I agree with your assesment that GEPC will tend to clean/remove the fillers that IHG has deposited, making swirls that were filled reappear.

IHG is the only thing that you in circles. This is so the fillers get into the
swirls and scratches. I also Buff it off in circles. The rest of the products you apply and remove in a back and forth motion to minimize the creation of scratches and swirls. Also, back and forth makes the ones that you inevitably do create harder to see.
