Weird issue with new windshield
Hey, all. I just had my windshield replaced by Safelite. Cosmetically and optically, the glass is perfect. However, when it gets wet a pass of the wipers leaves a strange film of water that obscures the driver's vision. I tried switching out my wipers to Bosch's top of the line replacements which made the issue better, but it is still there. The weirdest thing is that when I wash the car, water doesn't bead or sheet off the windshield. The windshield keeps a very even, thick coat of water until I wipe it off with my MF towels (and the coat of water is thick enough that this takes forever).
I've tried multiple applications of Stoner's and a pretty thorough attack with a clay bar. Problem is still there. Any clues?
