What are opinions of Rain-X "like stuff" on the windows?

Default I use it, I like it...

I find that using their washer fluid significantly lengths the time between applications.

They use it on aircraft windows, so it's probably good enough for me.

Default I have used rain-x and aquapel...........

rain-x doesn't last and causes smearing. Aquapel lasts much longer but still won't shed water below 40mph and eventually causes some streaking. I'm going to try a perfectly clean windshield and see if I like it.
