Default ABS module changing does it need programming

Hi guys
I just joined the group hope you can help me
i bought an audi a8 2004 had some mechanical problems all fixed still one which is major The ABS module as it is scanned it shows that the whole module needed to be changed (abs, esp brake lights are on in the dash )
I know that i have to change it and i will
but my question is if i got the abs module with the same part number exactly does it need online programming or only reseting the whole system by vagcom
because if it needs online programming i will do it in a garage and they charge around $300 only for programming and if it doesn't need online programming i will change it by my self

Best thanx

Welcome!

VCDS programming is all you need. No need for dealer online programming.

It is better to ask model specific questions in model forums. A8 D3 forum has all you need about ABS programming.
