I have an 2001 Audi TT with the APR chip. It is mostly driven on the street around 5k to 6k per year. I also take it to the Laguna Seca road track once or twice a year and drive at speed. The problem is that I generally destroy my breaks after only one track session and I when i come off the track there is smoke pooring out of the wheels. I am looking at the Italia slotted discs but am confused between the ceramic pads and the other options. I would like to know what others have experienced with different brakes. Also, is a brake job something that i could do myself? I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on new brakes as this is just a "fun" day at the track. Ideas?
