New to me 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t m/t needs new brakes. Can anyone help with DIY?
Hello!
I recently bought a 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8t manual with a lot of modifications from its previous owner. Right now it needs new rear brake rotors and pads, a new brake fluid reservoir, and has some air in the brake lines. The previous owner fitted big VW Touareg brakes and calipers to the front but I don't know anything else about them. He didn't modify the rears at all. I bought these from Summit: https://ebcbrakes.com/products/ebc-s...ck-usr-rotors/. Will they pair well with the front ones? Do you have any tips or suggestions for someone installing them for the first time themselves? In what order would you recommend that I do these three repairs (remove/replace rear rotors and pads, bleed the brake lines, and replace the reservoir)? I've read somewhere that B6 S4 rotors and calipers can be fitted to my car as an upgrade to what's currently there. Do you think that would be a better choice over the EBC kit I ordered?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and comment.

That should be fine. All the heavy brake work is done by the front brakes. Also you don't have to match pads perfectly the ABS system takes care of biasing for you and keeps both front and back braking properly. If you were to up grade the rears it would be for looks mostly. Only need to replace reservoir if it is leaking or cracked.
Yes you have to bleed your system if you are going to replace the reservoir.
See Youtube for a video on how to change your brakes.
