Default **Horror story...** winter tires installation...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/47676/100_0583.jpg"></center><p>
I will not tell the name of the place who installed my winter tires because we may find a agreement...

I went this morning to have my winter tires installed on my stock wheels because i'm not sure if I'll buy new wheels next summer......... The horror story is: They have misplaced the first wheel on the machine and they have made a DENT (not a scratch) a 2" dent on the wheel... Since it keeps the setting of the previous wheel, guess what: They have scratched ALL my 4 2004 S4 wheels from 2" to 5" dent... They offered me to have them fixed wich I said "You know, my car has 200km so I think it's considered as brand new so I want new wheels and I will help you sell those fixed ones"... Yes, they are not big dents or big problems but the car is new and it's the person who've done the installation who neglected his work.

Any suggestions?

Sylvain

Default Do not settle for repaired wheels

Your car is brand new for christ sakes. Don't they have insurance to cover something like this? I would demand nothing less than brand new wheels. With the cost of OEM wheels, I would get aftermarket ones. This will save them some $, and you can ditch the avus ones for something nicer.

Default Definitely their problem

They didn't adjust their machine properly. Get some quotes on replacement wheels.

Default Doesn't look like there's structural damage at all, so why not get reimbursed for a full refinish?

After a year or two, get the wheels professionally refinished by audi, as they'll be curbed by then anyways, no?

I had all 4 of my sportec's hardcore damaged when mounting my tires b/c the wheels were too big I guess, didn't notice till I was 4 hours away. Probably about 20 times worse than the damage you've pictured, but luckily all on the inside of the lip....but all 4 wheels, covering almost the entire circumference on a few. clamp marks.....the whole shebang.

So hey, it could definitely be worse right? Good luck with it though!
