Anyone know if it's safe/possible to splice new HID bulbs into existing HID wiring.....

I have an H7 HID conversion kit and have been trying to replace a burnt out bulb. The replacement bulbs for the kit are stupid expensive ($99.00 US each+tax+shipping, and that's supposed to be a good deal!) and I can't be guarenteed that the bulb is a good quality brand!
I was thiking of ordering a pair of H7 bulbs from somewhere like www.visionbulbs.com and splicing them into my wiring, anyone know if this is safe to do?
Also, is it worth the money to go with the high end HID bulbs (rebased philips) or are the ones from places like www.visionbulbs.com ok?
Thanks for any help!

Possible, just make sure that the wires are well insulated
Use that stuff that shrinks when heat is applied. Don't use electrical tape, it just unsticks itself when the temperatures get hot then you get into other issues such as the power in each wire arcing to each other.

Do you have any 6000k H7 base bulbs left? If so how much would I be looing at?...
The plug style doesn't matter, I think I'm going to try to splice a set of new bulbs into my existing wires.
