Default Cracked downpipe fixed @ Brullen + some M3 vs. S4 pixxxxx ..... >>>>

Continuing on my adventures, i was scheduled this morning to fix my cracked downpipe down at Brullen Performance Exhausts - following a nice fallout of snow here in Toronto, the morning drive was more than enjoyable Simply put, i was there in the shop from 9am to 4pm helping disassemble my car and lending a hand wherever i could. The downpipe was severely cracked, and the weld visibly weak around that area. Richard reworked the downpipe, strengthened the cracked weld and then as a cherry on top decided to sandblast it. After doing all of this and enjoying my meal of cigarettes for the day, we realized that Richard didn't have any gaskets for TT in stock, after some investigation & hopping to and fro a few audi dealers there was only one solution, leave TT on the hoist and wait for the gasket to arrive Thursday morning, so i'm enjoying driving a rented Ford Explorer (as much as i dislike Ford, i'm actually impressed with this new Ford, drives nice, looks alright and not a disgrace like the older model) hehe - here are some pics from the day.

On a side note, thanks to Brullen for being the nicest people i've dealt with in the automotive market for any product, when i come into the shop i feel that i'm at home Cheers

Fixed and sandblasted downpipe, i sat handling this DP for about 30 minutes, just looking it over and taking pics, in person and to touch its just such a really cool-looking piece of piping

I dropped by Agincourt later in the afternoon to chat it up with the much appreciated audi personnel, and this M3 + S4 were just picture perfect beside each other. I'm unfortunately hearing that 5+ S4s have been in already for either popped tranny (reverse gear specifically)or leaking oil cooler. First year cars, oftentimes they have problems, but once that's all fixed up ... - how i can't wait to go test drive the S4, M3 i've driven before in SGM format and i was impressed by the overall feeling of the car by somewhat discomforted by its jerkiness, which i am VERY sure would have been avoided if a 6-speed was available to me.

your experience? I'm guessing yes, just by the customer service, but what about final product and reliability?

TIA

Default Here's how ........ >>>

Bathurst and Steeles underground where i go randomly every once in a while to chill with my buddies has a nasty entrance ramp, goes up and then down making it a peak in the middle. The ramp in is fine, on the way out it nails ya good if your car is any lower than a stock TT I hit it once, and have been noticing the last week that my car has been smelling of Carbon Dioxide on the inside, i've been getting insane headaches and TT frankly has been driving like ****, so obviously i went under the hood in search and found this :

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54726/cracked_weld_closeup.jpg">

Upon hitting the ramp, this weld (due to further investigation it was determined that it was a **** weld to begin with, this is the second broken weld Brullen has had in however long they've been open and that means something) - this crack being the culprit of all the troubles.
As far as Brullen goes, i have no affiliation with them of any sort, and if i speak highly of them its because i'm overly impressed with the product, the treatment and the real people who work there At first i saw an ad in the Classifieds about a guy selling an LLtek-sold Brullen catback piece with 4 tips as you see on my car for 500$ canadian, so i snatched it real quick knowing how much it was worth new, merely by chance did i find out about Brullen so i went down and asked them to produce a 2.5" turbo-back system for me along with the catback i purchased - they did exactly that. The quality is super-b, i love the sound and everything about it - i had fitment issues in the beginning with banging against the heatshield, but everyone expects it with Audis and it wasn't something we couldn't perfect as time went on.

NOTE : When you call Richard down at Brullen and tell him you have an S4, he just might tell you to **** off, don't be alarmed. I've been down at the shop for long enough to learn that S4 downpipes are THE hardest DPs to do out of a world of cars and that it's just a bitch to work on em. Just be nice and persuasive, mention Audiworld and myself (Max) if you'd like but it's not like they'll treat ya any different. I've got a school-buddy with a beastly S4 and he went with the UUC VelociMax3 Tru Dual - oh momma, that puppy bolts and sounds so damn nasty while doing it Give your S4 a christmas present, get that exhaust, hehe. Cheers
