Default Fuel in Quebect? Only 91?

Last summer I remember 94 at petro canada, today all I found everywhere was 91? What's up with that. I drove 435 miles at an average speed of 120 mph with no problems, and after filling up with 91, my MIL light came on. I plugged into my VAS tool and said Misfire, upper limit exceeded. 91 Octane sucks. Is that all that they sell aroundhere?

Default I use 91 all the time and for years without any problems.

If you have a MIL light problem I suspect something other than fuel due to 91 octane.

Default That is strange. Maybe Petro Can decided not to carry 94 octane in the Quebec city area...

I'm in Montreal and all Petro Cans have 94 octane.

Also the gas sold in the winter up here is different because of the cold. They blend a different formula or add something to it for the cold weather which actually reduces performance.

I would not waste my time tuning a car even on 94 octane with winter gas.

Now a word of caution driving an average speed of 120 mph here is asking for major problems with the cops. I'm hoping you meant a more reasonable 120 kph.

In Quebec now, anything above 40 kph above the posted speed limit is considered "racing" and you and your car will be in deep poo poo.

Got 94 here at Petro-Canada, and I'm an hour away from Quebec City...

Isn't it methanol that is added? I know my car hates Mohawk gas because of the additive

Default Nope.. never found a Petro-Canada with 94 near highways in Qc city

don't really know the reason why.. but for some reason they don't have it over there and neither in Chicoutimi.

The closest and easiest one to access is in Trois-Rivieres (betweend Mtl and Qc).

Default Drove 120-140 MPH all the way through Quebec...

I encountered 4 speed traps. Luckily my radar detector gave me plenty of notice on 2 occasions, the third time I spotted him in traffic about 1 click ahead of me. The fourth occasion he was in the median turn off points, radar off, passed him at about 140 mph. I saw the lights come on (wow, big antlers on those cop cars), just downshifted and floored it. My friends from quebec told me its a better bet to run, since you're screwed if your caught anyway, and you might as well try and get away. Got away no problem, made it to the Hotel De Glace in time for a tour and a few cocktails!

Kudos to Canadians though, at least to the ones from Quebec, nobody stays in the left lane, and when I was driving, people would move over at least 500 meters before I got to them. All in all a very relaxing drive.

I had the radar detector well camouflaged, I guess they aren't allowed in your country.

One interesting thing, the roads are way better in canada than the us as far as pot holes go. You guys have wavy, cracked roads, but no HOLES. Not 45 minutes into the US and I encountered a few wheel bending potholes.
