Glenmore Audi in Calgary seems to be an excellent dealer
I have had my S4 in twice now and the service has been exemplary. Expensive but that is expected for expensive cars like these. The parts are breathtakingly expensive.
However, how's this for onjective service? A friend of mine suggested I buy an ignition module to carry as a spare (kind of like we used to carry spare spark plugs in the "old" days in case of fouling) as Audi ignition coils have been a known weak point.
Apparently the V6 ignition packs are not troublesome compared to the 1.8T packs. The parts guy suggested I wouldn't benefit from carrying a spare for the V6, and he keeps them in stock anyway for same day delivery in the off chance I might need one.
Imagine that, a dealer telling you he'll keep the part available for you instead of pocketing $50 on the spot and having you store it!

He's keeping in stock because the service technicians need them.
And how does he have it in stock benefit you when you are stranded on the side of the road?
Disclaimer: I have never serviced my car there. I'm not even from there.

It'll at a minimum go into limp mode.
Driving in limp mode for any significant distance is risking real damage to the engine.
As for V5, there's a very good reason why nobody makes one. It's because it's not a good idea.

VW thought the VR5 was a very good idea, they still make one
don't they? Nearly as powerful as their VR6.
Narrow angle but still a V configuration.
Not a 90 degree engine granted (15 degree I believe) but still very practical and saves a bit of space.
So, I could limp to the dealer to get a spare ignition coil?
