Just a little addition for those who might be interested in this mod in the future...
As you might already know, I decided to remove the complete secondary air pump assembly.
By doing so you have to remove a corrugated type plastic hose that runs from the pump to the main air box. This leaves you with a hole to fill or block.
Originally I just duct taped it shut. However a very sharp Audi technician that works on my car remembered something and suggested I research it with the parts department, which I did. I ended up ordering a part that we had at the time thought could be used to perfectly seal the hole.
Sure enough today I received it and test fitted it on and I'm happy to report that it works great and looks totally OEM (which it is).
The part, a plastic cap is from the A8 2003 to 2007 and 2008/2009 model years. The part number is 1J0131510.
Air box with secondary air pump inlet.

The plastic cap, top side. You can see the o ring that makes the seal.

Plastic cap, the reverse side. The outer ring "clicks in" and locks the cap securely into position.

Cap installed.

Overall view.

What's going on Michel, we don't get the weight difference between the duct tape and the oem cap?!
Impresive work, hope you can provide a complete wrap up at end of winter and I hope I can see your upgrades in person some time!
Good job.
Good job.
