Default New warranty/free service ...

This is the latest I've heard about the coverage for 2006/2007 models.
2006 MY will have full coverage as they have now.
2007 models will not include free maintenance anymore. Except for people that have ordered Q7's and RS4's and/or until Audi Canada says that it no longer applies.
The first oil change will be free on all 2007 models. Also, you'll be able to purchase the free maintenance coverage for $700 and it will include the 25, 40, 55 and 70,000 kms. services.

Default What does the $700 maintenance coverage covers exactly?

I will still get the oil changed every 8,000km personally.

$700 is actually not a horrible deal, if it's the same as what we got for free before

I don't have all the details yet, but it seems like the coverage is the same.

I agree, it's not that bad. Specially if the price for the '07 stays close to what it is now.

Default "purchase the free maintenance"

sounds like something I would read on the back page of Consumer Reports (the section called "Selling It - Goofs, Glitches and Gotchas")
