Default Plasma == Heat

Plasma displays require a LOT of power. They also tend to generate a lot of heat. Personally, I'm not big on the large panel displays. I much prefer a DLP-based projector...preferably 3 chip. YMMV.

Default If you wall mount, probably best choice is LCD as it's lighter

Meanwhile I'm still stuck in the stone ages with a 27" I hardly use and watch TV on a 20"!

Default Plasma. On my recomendation, my brother just picked up a Panny 50" for $2500.....

from The Bay and he didn't have to pay for 2 years. They are in VERY limited supply and he had to call around to find it. They price matched a "fictional" deal that I had with future shop.

The tv is the Panasonic TH50PX60 and it used to retail for over $3400 last summer.

The newer models are set to arrive but there is no information about a 50" size and whether or not it will be a 1080p and more importantly how much it will cost.

The PX60 is rated one of the best Plasma's around and I would only say the Pioneer Elite would surpas it if you don't mind spending another $4000+.

If you (or anyone) is interested in this model, then all you need is my brother's invoice number and ANY Bay store in Canada will match it.

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=077 0HDS0010072626&catid=</a

I watch the Leafs in HD on my LCD and I never noticed any blurry stuff, even after some beers.

Not the right time to buy yet. You should hold off if you can. 1080p is the new standard for now.
