Default Toronto: Purchasing A4, dealer trying to screw me?

I am currently looking at an 03' A4 with 115km's on it in Toronto. The sticker price is $13, 995, I spoke to the dealer today and so far he's only willing to drop it to $13, 500 and also give me a break of $260 on tax if I pay $2000 in cash, he says he only has a $1000 profit margin to work with, this is b.s. no? I'm wondering how much more will I be able to haggle him to drop the price or is this a reasonable price range for an A4 with 115km's?

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Default There's no way to tell if they're screwing you or not, that is if they are at all...

you don't know how much they paid for it. All you should worry about is weather you think you are getting a good deal or not, nevermind how much discount you're getting or how much $ the dealer is making.
To be honest with you, I think is too cheap... perhaps you should question the history of it; accidents mainly. Get a Carproof or CarFax print out, but make sure they pull it in front of you.
You should also consider a CPO at an Audi dealer, you maybe able to find an '03 with under 80ks for about $20 or so with 2 yr/40k warranty and 1.9% financing for 48 months.

http://www.trader.ca/powerpage/listings.aspx?vlotid=1507124&trader=1&CAT= 1</a

Thanks for your reply.

I have the carfax and UCDA reports, the car seems to be fine according to them.

Yes actually I did, there are a few stick shift cars around this many clicks that are hovering around that list price.

Default take a listen to what afretes is telling you. That warranty is priceless so if you factor it into

the price of the car and then rip the benifit of 1.9% financing, you may not be too far off from what the non-audi dealers are asking for a similar car. Do the math first. Plus you can also negotiate with the Audi dealer.

Remember to factor in a timing belt/water pump if they haven't been replaced already.

Default You need to provide more data

is it a 1.8T or 3.0? stick or tip? What packages does it have? Is it cpo'd

Factor all the above and then go research canadian black book (hint, google that and find the a link to it as you cant go there directly)

Once you know that then you will be in a better position. Remember its only worth what someone's willing to pay for it, it might not be you and there are lots more cars for sale than there are buyers right now.
