So I get in an accident a month and a half ago. new rieger bumper is toast. So I get a used S4 bumper from Zev at avalon and he ships it up here. paid $7 tax to get it in the country and thats the end of the good news.

So I take it to a painter to have it repainted. It was black, I need silver. He takes the clear bra off the front and cleans the glue off. Paints it and lets it dry.

Then he calls me 3 days later telling me there was some kind of reaction betweent he cleanign agent he used to get the glue off and the paint. So he tells me he needs to repaint it. (free of charge). Thats fine.

So last week he repaints it and I go to pick it up. Wouldnt you know it. The idiot painted the entire bumper.... including the black plastic grills! WTF? then he trys to tell me that it would look good. uhhh no. Not to mention he has tonnes of clear coat on it that has an "orange peel" look to it. So he said he can buff it out and then repaint the grilles flat black. Fine.

So i take the bumper home and put it on the car so he can put pressure on it to buff it. Bring it back and give it to him. He now calls me back saying some oily stuff is all over the top of the bumper (black pollen or somehting) and it stained the bumper. He says he cant get it off and has to REPAINT agian! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So now I have to go over there and see whats up. I saw the same kind of stains on the car I am drving now and I can rub it off with a little bit of spit and a good thumbing.

Thats it. needed to blow off some steam. For those of you who read my posts and think I am an angry person (re: from my last one about the parking ticket lady), I am a really easy going guy. Its jsut I havent had my car in almost 1.5 months and this type of **** just never ends.

The side grills can be purchased new but I'm not sure about the center.

You should have HIM pay for everything.

ps. that much paint on a bumper can't be a good thing down the road when it comes to stone chips...

repainting and everytime he repaints he sands it all of. So there isnt too much build up. Amd I know, the paint will chip on teh grills but you cant go out and buy a new centre one. ohh well, he is losing money on this anyways.

The center grill IS removable.... source one through the S4 forum, Audizine, VW Vortex, wreckers....

People remove them all the time and insert the RS4 grill mesh.If you STFA you should finds some pics
