Default Autobahn checklist for tools...

My car has very limited cargo so I have to be smart about what to bring...

I have a funny feeling that my brake pads may not last the whole weekend and since I did not have time to visit Al @ CPT over the last 2 weeks like I planned, I might have to pull a DIY pad swap at the track. I've never done this before so what essentials do I need? I've got a floor jack, torque wrench, basic metric wrench, torx, and screwdriver set. Of course I also have a set of replacement stock pads front and rear. I've used stock pads for the last 3 track events and they held up well. Anything else I might be forgetting?

Default Front pads, right?

Everything that you mentioned will be just fine. The other thing that I use is a crescent wrench. This is used to compress the piston.

Maybe some rubber gloves? Sure saves the hands from getting all.... yucky.

Default mechanix gloves are worth their weight in gold

bought a pair of them two years ago when i was at bondurant and they have gone through a good deal since then (both on my car, on freinds cars, during paintball matches, etc) and are still going strong (no rips, still comfy, no stretching). And obviously they wont melt or rip like latex...

You may want them to rotate your wheels for tire wear too...depending on how much track time you are going to get (is it a one day or two?)

http://www.mechanix.com/images/products/small/original_yellow.gif

Default never hurts to carry extra brake fluid.

and don't forget to top off your blinker fluid before you go out! ;-)

Default And if you drive a VAG product, make sure you have extra...

power steering fluid. This is VAG specific fluid - NOT generic fluid from Pep Boyz, Go to an Audi or VW dealer and make sure you pick-up a little bottle.
