Autobahn Update
As eventmaster for an Audi Car Club driving school one has the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of issues as an event comes together. This would be one of the not so fun topics.
Safety is the primary goal for both Audi Car Club and Autobahn Country Club (did you notice I can't abbreviate to ACC here?). Alan Wilson was at the Autobahn Country Club track site Thursday and Friday of this past week and I'm sorry to inform you that a determination was made that the track would not be in a condition to host our event by October 2nd. Mike, Mark and Steve of Autobahn have been great to deal with through this process and I can assure you that every attempt was made to make this event work and I'd like to thank them for their efforts.
For those of you who have already submitted your registration, there are several alternatives. Audi Car Club is hosting a driving school at Gingerman Raceway on September 11-12 with an advanced drivers day/instructor clinic on September 10. Your registration and payment can simply be applied to this event. If you just do Sat/Sun you'll actually have credit coming back (when's the last time you showed up for an event and had a check waiting for you?). More information can be found at http://www.audichicago.org/eventdetail.php?id=90
If that's not a possibility, you're entitled to a full refund of your registration fee. Actually, I haven't cashed any checks yet so if you're o.k. with it, I can just run them through the shredder. If you'd feel more comfortable actually receiving your check back, just let me know, I can mail it back to you. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Lastly I would like to thank our sponsors; Continental Audi, GRD Tuning and First Funding Mortgage Corp for their understanding of the situation and willingness to transfer their sponsorship to our Gingerman event. I appreciate their flexibility and commitment to the club.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns,
Ken Koppitz

Bummer... was going to send my check today.
Thanks for the update and for all of the work up to this point. Your efforts to put this together are appreciated... even if it didn't work out.
