maybe...
Rex is probably not as good as the writers say he is... YET. He is still very young and inexperienced as far as actual game time is concerned. I think he still has a tremendous upside, and will eventually be a great QB. He has already shown he has the intangibles, and the types of things you expect to see from A-list NFL QB's. He has the capability to put the ball into a receiver's hands, down the sideline, in stride, over the secondary. We haven't seen that in Chicago since.... since..... **maybe** Jim McMahon, and even he was an ugly passer.
Rex had a HORRIBLE game yesterday. In his defense though, you can't blame him entirely. His O-line couldn't protect him for ****. He had no time to throw, no time to set up, and no time to find a receiver. So he panicked and made some REALLY bad throws.
Long term though, I think this experience will teach him something. All good NFL QB's have had bad games like this. Peyton Manning, Bret Favre... all of them.
I think he'll be fine in the long run.
Will he be really good, and one of teh better QB's Chicago has ever seen? Yes.
Will he be truely GREAT and have a storied carreer in Chicago? We'll see. But he's the first QB in a LONG time who LEGITIMATELY has that potential.

IMO
Rex is a gunslinger. I think that means the highs are very high but the lows are equally extreme. He tried to take a game on his shoulders when he was having a bad accuracy night and obviously it did not work. I would like to see him back off and "settle" for some less risky plays but as has been stated he didn't get a lot of help from the O line. I think the play calling was questionable and at the point where they pretty much had to pass to catch up the put Cedric Benson in the game who probable couldn't block me pass rushing - WTF? All in all sometimes I will take luck over skill. At least Urlacher proved he is for real in the 2nd half.
