101 speeding tickets issued in Northwest Tollway blitz

Illinois State Police wrote 101 speeding tickets during an enforcement crackdown Thursday along the entire stretch of the Northwest Tollway.
In addition, six drivers were issued citations for seat-belt violations and one motorist was arrested for driving under the influence, according to State Police Sgt. Brian McKinney. Eleven other drivers were cited for a variety of violations, including improper lane usage, following other vehicles too closely and reckless driving; 10 written warnings were issued; and one criminal arrest was made.
The enforcement effort, dubbed "Operation Full House," was carried out on the entire 78.5 miles of the Northwest Tollway (Interstate Highway 90) by positioning troopers approximately 5 miles apart and using air support for surveillance.
The blitz was the second this spring aimed at encouraging better driving to improve safety on the tollway system. On March 4, police issued 182 citations and 56 warnings to drivers on the Tri-State Tollway (Interstate Highway 294). Some 159 tickets were for speeding, which along with drunken driving are the leading causes of fatal accidents.
Authorities said more one-day intensified crackdowns on the toll roads are planned.

100 tickets x $100 each = $10,000, don't think that's going to do much to the IL budget
Unless of course that's what the Gov owes the boat yard to spring his boat!

Add to that those that will fight the tickets, the court costs, attorney fees,
increase in insurance as a result. It lines a few different industry's pockets and that keeps the votes coming in. Obviously it's not about just the money. Now repeat this exercise several times during the summer.
