IL state rep proposes a $1M FOID card insurance bill
I know there are plenty of firearm owners here. One of our state rep wants to make it mandatory for any person that carries a FOID card and owns a gun to carry a $1M liability policy. Failure to have the policy means getting your FOID card revoked.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2188301/posts</a

I remember. And what would you do now? Pull a gun on them? Keep in mind...
they may have one too and may be better at handling it. Shooting someone at close range is a lot harder than you might think. In fear, they may pull a trigger sooner than they would otherwise.

I hear hunters' horror stories all the time. ****, that kid got shot at a gun show last year...
yeah, stupid people that allowed him to shoot the Uzi but I'm saying if guns weren't there, none of that would ever happen.
Just sayin'
Oh, and a $1mil liability insurance should not be all that much. Maybe few hundred a year. Sorry, but I just don't agree with any guns, period.

in reality, much like nuclear weapons, just the knowledge of their existence is a huge deterent .... I am sure that a sober person who has proper training and practice would fair much better than some strung out criminal.
