Not that it matters, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express once.

Default Can I have the 4/32 depth tires that are being replaced? :-)

They're just getting good!
Great video. Thanks, Luke.

Default While I understand the outcome, technically the sameple space is too small.

There are so many variables. Perhaps the outcome is specific this model tire. Other tires may not exhibit the same behavior in such an extreme manor. The outcome may also be related to the vehicles on which the tire was tested. I would also love to see this same test in the dry.

Default Re: Dry?

Next to the drying out of the compound molecules, (from over time) why would the results vary in the dry?

Water depth and channeling to where "rubber meets the road" is what the test is showing.

Brand to brand variations expected (tire pattern / channels) for forcing water out from the contact patch should be expected.

They *did* use a sedan then a truck getting similar results in a nutshell.

Default I would like to see if a 4/32 and 2/32 tire looses braking performance on a dry road surface..

and by how much. Most (not all) people allow more stopping distance in the rain and drive slower as it rains harder - this makes allowance for some of the problems this test shows. Nobody would ever suspect they have a braking problem on a dry surface because their tires are at 4/32 (and possibly they don't have a problem). That is why I would want to see the test done on a dry road surface.
