It snapped clean off and was laying loose inside the track. If I can't get the hardware seperately, then I guess I'll try the used parts/junkyard route.

I think that is part of the sun roof frame. You can get just the frame without the glass, but the head liner has to come out. Even if it is just a guide, the frame will need to come out.

I posted on the A4 forum as well and somebody already linked a tech article for removing everything. Now to find the part I need...
