Default Wheel refinishing advice please.

So my tires are damn near bald on the BBS wheels and it will be time to get new tires soon. I figure that would be the ideal time to get some fresh paint on the BBSs. Wheels America charges $129 each for prep and paint per wheel plus $20 per to dismount and mount. I don't need repair. I just want to remove scratches and track pad residue. While that seems like a reasonable rate, I was wondering if anybody here has gone the DIY route. I'm thinking sandpaper and spray paint. I am a man on a budget.

I also left a message for Chicago Wheel, but I'm not sure if they are still around. Tom used to charge me around $100 including repair when I had my Italian wheels.

Anybody got a body shop quote handy?

Bright silver again or black this time? I like the contrast of black wheels on a white car, but I am undecided.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Default I would recommend the guy that refinished my wheel...

If I could find his information! Italian dude... has like a mobile refinishing business. Did an excellent job on one of my wheels.

I think he's worked on other club member's wheels (bradford maybe?)

Default If you do decide to goto Wheels America, we should try to get a group rate..

there's currently 3+ people from the club looking to get wheels refinished there. Did you go in and look at any wheels they had done? The work appears to be really good, I saw gunmetal and black on a couple I liked.
