Much thanks to everyone that was able to make it to the Wednesday Chill out.
Our large showing of A4 1.8s, 2.8, S4s, A6 avants was only matched by
Volkswagons galore. TDIs, GTIs, VR6s, 1.8s, and more parked facing Audis for a
collection of close to 50 cars, a great showing for an Wednesday evening meet
no doubt. Alot of people had fun just bringing friends and checking out rides,
talking bout everything from nightclubs to putting Crisco in your Diesel. Did
everyone see that 350HP(right!) Maxima or the Camry with gold hydrowing? How
about the Audi giving the Security Guy a jump (who said Audi's aren't
reliable). Oh well.

2. Lazy Sunday Annapolis Country Drive

Date: Tommorrow (Saturday), July 28th
What: VWVortex.com (Veedubs) and Audi Get together and after BBQ
(confirmed 90 VWs-Audis are up to us!)
Where: Rt. 32 (Near Arundel Mills)
This will be an early afternoon meet with a continuing BBQ and afterparty in
Gaithersburg similar to our successful chillout session! You may write me for
more info or the scoop the day of.

DIRECTIONS:
1. . From Rt 32 take Rt 175 exit towards Fort Meade. Go through Fort Meade
about 3 miles and turn Right on Disney road when you see Denny's. Pass the
Provinces neighborhood entrance, and directly on your LEFT will be the park.

2. From Rt 100, take Rt 713 Arundle Mills Blvd. exit. Turn left at the second
light (I think it's the second) onto Ridge Road. (If you go straight, you're
just going to additional parking for Arundle Mills.) Go straight through one
traffic light and through a flashing light (?) until you get to Rt 175 (you'll
see a 711 store and a dry cleaners on your left, turn there.) Turn Left at the
Denny's onto Disney Road. Pass the Provinces neighborhood entrance, and
directly on your LEFT will be the park.

3. From 95 you take Rt100 East towards Glen Burnie. Go about 6 miles or so and
you'll see the Arundle Mills Exit, towards Fort Meade #10A

Date: This coming Sunday, July 29th
Weather: Reported as "gorgeous-or else" If rained out we will reschedule
What: Annapolis Millerville Country Drive and Harbor Snacking

NOTE: You have TWO (2) options for a meeting place for this ride.
Rockville, or near Annapolis itself. The Rockville group will leave
earlier and meet with Annapolis group. Some people want to run from
Rockville, others live near Annapolis already. The choice is yours.

We'll be leaving Rockville to join an Annapolis group to head into
the scenic byways of Millersville/Annapolis. This drive is a really
fun one and will have turnies, twisties, at a moderate speed. Route maps will
be handed out prior to leaving.

We'll start off of Rt 50, route through Millersville, and even stroll
by the Annapolis Waterfront for an Gyro or Iced Latte. The return is
a straight shot home. Just a chance to relax, turn up the sound, maybe smoke a
stogie while hangin with some newly appointed race car drivers (JUST KIDDING!
CALM DOWN PEOPLE! CALM DOWN!).

How long you ask? The drive itself is about a 40 minute run with
little traffic lights/traffic/etc. Add getting there, coming back to
Rockville, stops and chit chat, it's 3-4 hours. A great way to spend a lazy
Sunday evening no doubt. Many people bring girlfriends, friends,
canaries, families (GO IMOLA FAMILY!--too hot for fleece though) along for the
drive.

TIME: Meet at 3:20 pm, depart at 4 pm sharp

WHERE: La Madeline corner parking lot at the corner of Montrose and
Rt.355/Rockville Pike in Rockville. From DC/All Points South -> Take
495N to I-270N in Md. Get off at the Montrose Road Exit EAST. Follow
Montrose 2 miles until you hit Rockville Pike. The lot is on the
corner to the right.

TIME: Meet at 4:30 pm, depart at 5:00 pm

WHERE: Park and Ride (Davidsonville), Route 50 East to Exit 16 South onto Route
424. The Park & Ride is immediately on the left.
