Any thoughts about adding a sorting function to the top of each page of the forums?

Any thoughts about adding a sorting function to the top of each page of the forums?
I don't have time to look at each message of all of the forums that I like to follow; However, I do like the layout of the forums and would never want it to change to the other type of forum where the most popular threads are continually bumped up to the top.
What I would like to be able to do would be to sort the most recent page of threads by author and number of replies. That way, I could check the forums that I don't have time to read completely by just looking at the most popular messages or the messages from certain individuals.

Yes. Either by current page, or maybe by all threads within the last 24 hours.
I know it sounds like an odd request, but it seems like one way to add the feature that the other style of forums has that this one doesn't.
BTW, AW is the best style forum on the Internet.
