That was my point...if it remains locked...the thread can't grow and take over people's screens.

The thread remains 1 single posts, and the contents are maintained over time (edit the single post).

I'm thinking we could break things down by topic (like the tech section), with questions up top, and hyperlinks to the details. Any reference articles or relevant (good) AW threads can be added to the details later, as time allows.

I think it's a great idea. On the Volvo Brickboard...

there is a 700/900 FAQ that answered 95% of my questions when I bought the Volvo. I can't believe how damn effective that FAQ was. I think the information gathered since the B5 A4's introduction has reached a point where we can successfully answer a large portion of newcomer's questions.

Exactly what I'm thinking of...

See my response below (to ModifiedA4). We just need to organize the FAQ's. The content in this sticky would get pretty extensive. If we organize it well up front, it should be a lot easier to find info. The FAQ I've seen so far just numbers a series of commonly asked questions. Problem is, there are a LOT of commonly asked questions.

Nice idea...

Perhaps they could put a link at the top of each forum for the FAQ, and put a checkbox in your preferences to enable/disable the link. Default should be to enable the link (for obvious reasons).
