How can this be?
I used to have the handle "yumyjagermiester", spelled in that exact fashion, but recently changed it to ¥ÜM¥JÅGÈR. The other week, I see a post on the OT forum:
https://forums.audiworld.com/other/msgs/2235502.phtml
Some one posting, with my old name, most likely trying to get at my goat. Now, that user is no longer using my old name but is now C.O. Girl.
How is it that someone can re-register a previously used name? This can be very damaging to someones character on AW. And gain, this user used the EXACT spelling I used.
More examples:

Why change your username in the first place?
If you didn't change it you wouldn't lose it. I know that seems obvious, but you talk about damages to a user's character. This is the best protection.

Yes but still, it is a fact that a lot of us change names frequently but go back to the originally..
Same thing happened to me, I was always PDXA4
I changed it once for a while and someone else took it? I would not call this very fair...
Surely a better way to protect names, would be once a name is created on a account, no one else can ever create the same name again...the name sticks with the account...
