Why this forum format?
This means you need 2 things.
1 A community to help those coming in asking about stuff we have all seen before. I believe it actually works out for the better as it encourages communication and allows for updates and experience.
2 A good search system. The one in here is OK but users can help it considerably.
DO NOT REPLY with Re: blah blah,. Make your point simply and use key words. In the message use key words and specifics. Problem is often people do not realise the info they want has already been posted.
Perhaps if we could have a linked searchable database containing basic details per model somehow attached to each forum.
Maybe it could be set up to allow each registered user (log in) to enter standard details and events (like faults or upgrades) and photos (like: 18 ints + ext, Roof bars) hyperlinked in their own line.
I run an Excel spreadsheet like that with all the Q7s anyway and it works fine, currently 299 cars. Super search aid and data compiler. It would be too difficult for everyone to do it but the info is all posted right here all over the site.
EG; there are currently 38 Phanthom Black Q7s of which 6 are on 21" wheels.

The existing AW Registry is too remote, slow, out of date, incomplete, boring and unusable.
Once you get used to it, the difference is like reading a novel vs comic books
