Default Any Cyclists or Triathletes in here...?

I went by the other day to Swim Bike and Run in South Miami. They are having a sort of liquidation sale. 30% all bikes and 50% Everything else.

I wanted to share with those that cycle or do triathlons.

I'll be getting the Polar S625X Heart Rate Monitor for $184 (It usually retails for $389).

Just wanted to share with fellow cycling and triathlon junkies! =)

Default Yep I checked that out on Saturday...

Nice P2C! Interesting business model to make room for new stock. It's not like they had a bunch of "OLD" stuff everywhere. But there were a few good deals to be had, especially on expensive hardware and electronics. It was pretty picked over by the time I got there though, and that was after getting the email the night before - so no doubt there was a "private" 50% off invitation sent out prior.

Where are you from / do you race? What distances?

Default It almost seemed like it was a....

"going out of business" sale.

Yup, there was probably a "Private" sale. But there were some great deals, and like you said, not anything "old."

After the Polar HRM, I ended up just catching a good deal on their FSA SL-K Light crankset.

Originally, I'm from Mexico, D.F. and now live in Miami. I race most local races, but I have been out the last three years due to being hit by a car two separate times when I was doing training rides.

I've mostly done sprint distances, and a few Olympic races here and there. I'd like to do some halfs this coming year though.

What about you?

Where did you take the picture in your sig?

The car in my sig is from my previous a4.

I should really update my sig.

Thanks for the P2C comment! Cervelo makes phenomenal bikes.

Default I might sign up for IMFL in 2010 as it might be the cheapest IM to do now that..

the economy is stupid bad.

I heard the motels don't price gouge on rates during IM week.

Default You're kidding about the hotels, right?

The true chain motels/hotels will be higher that week. However, there are TONS of empty condos at that time of year...demand outpaces supply so you can get a really really good deal. I did it a few year ago and waiting until the week before the race to book one - saved a good bit. Plan your trip to PCB come Nov '09 so you can get in line for your '10 spot - may not be on-line entry at the rate these things fill up.

Yeah I sorta am wondering the same thing in the back of my mind....if they're just going to lock the doors one day soon. I'm here in Miami also, do most of my running around Sunset/Dadeland area. Haven't raced much in the last year, but may be aiming for Ironman France in June. I'll do the local sprints/olys on the Key between now and then though. Sig pic was taken near the beach where the sailboard trailer sits on the way to KeyBiscayne.

Default I did IMLP in 06/07 and considering I was paying up to 3500 for 5 days...

I heard FLA is quite a bit less.

No need to go down there to sign up/. This years race still had tons of spots open....not sure if its even sold out yet.

The economy and too many IM races make a race like IMFL stay open like IM KFC and anu Euro IM.

Default Yeah that's silly expensive.

Just FYI, but IMFL did not have TONS of slots on-line this past year, and on-line registration closed on the same day it opened (Sunday). There is a new registration policy that promotes on-site registration for the following year, thus the more and more limited availability of the on-line slots. Doesn't seem like the economy is having ANY effect on Ironman demand here in the states. Just sayin'!! :-) Good luck
