Comments on my mute switch...
OMG!!! after the years of using my dad's V1 without an accessable mute switch, this is exactly what i have been needing. I basically put it in this same spot:
<img src="http://www.toyguy.o-f.com/i/switch%20on%20lever.jpg">
I couldnt do the A8 Rear sunshade mute button because it is already in use by the garage door opener, plus the High Beam Stalk location is so much more convenient!!!!
however, i could not find the same type of button with leads attached so i made my own.
I went to skycraft and got a few small tactile switches, heat shrink, a couple of rubber pads, 4-line phone chord, and viola!
Justin's camera wouldn't work, so i dont have a picture of mine yet, but it doesnt look too bad. I epoxied the switch and wire to two rubber pads that are adhered to the switch by their own adhesive, so we'll see how well that holds in the florida heat...
As for the location. it is perfect!!! My left fingers are already used to flicking the brights on and off, turn signals and all that jazz and it is just second nature now (after 20 min of driving to work) to just push the mute button without even taking my hands off the wheel...
Shoot i might even write up a Tech Article on it...
ALSO: the switch that i used has a very low pressure that is required in order for the plunger to actuate the switch so when i press the button it doesn't actuate the high beam switch.

well i bought four of them....
but one broke, dad dropped one in the pool, and i tested my design on one, and i put the other in my car. However, if there in sufficient interest for the people in the CFL club, i would be willing to make them at 5-10 bucks a pop.
I have my power adapter located just above the fuse box, so that is how long i'll make most of them unless someone has a special location and need a longer chord.
However, when i do that i'll just do it all just using the phone chord. Dad has an RJ-11/RJ-45 crimper, so i could actually make some pretty decent ones.
What the heck, i'm not busy this weekend...
