Finally drove a 911 Turbo...

A couple of weekends ago, my best friend came over to play golf and let me drive his (964) 911 Turbo. I've driven Porsche's before, but never one without PSM. I can definitely see how people get themselves into trouble with those cars. It will carry more speed through and out of a turn than your brain is willing to comprehend and the urge to lift is pretty strong. I pushed it as hard as I wanted to and probably reached 4 or 5 10ths of the car's ability.
The bottom mounted pedals are different, but I think I like them better than the typical top mounted style.
His car looks just like the one below and he's done some engine work. He said something about stage 2+ (which I think involves exhaust, intake and pollution control type mods). He said it should be around 350hp and it felt about right. The car was telepathic. It turned in as soon as you thought about an apex, and it stopped like it was dragging an anchor and a parachute.
The only thing that surprised me from an ergonomics standpoint was just how small the car is on the inside. Plenty of leg room but it just felt really snug.
Overall it was a really wonderful car (especially considering it is over a decade old) that gave me a whole new appreciation for German cars, especially those from Stuttgart.

Yep. Driving in the winter with a coat on sucks. Pretty small in there.
It is very tight, but leg room is great for me. I wish they had an adjustable steering wheel, I always feel like I'm shuffle steering a go kart.
70 and sunny out and I'm 300 miles away from my car. Arg!
