Default Question for the IT pros...

Dad is working on some old HPFS drives that he needs to pull info from. What does he need to be able to get the info off the disk and or convert it to NTFS?

If anyone wants to give him a call, go right ahead! 407-359-8333

Default Outside of getting a program ($) to do it, he will have to chop some system files and edit the reg

Can he do that if I send directions and the file?

You have to load the old pinball.sys driver from win NT 3.51 to read it. MS discontinued HPFS support after IBM and MS had their falling out int he mid 90s. So you can use the old driver in NT 4, and 2000 (not sure about XP) to get it to read.

Default Get a copy of 3.51. HPFS support was dropped in 4.0.

Is it a SCSI or IDE drive?

Install 3.51 and use the convert command to upgrade to NTFS, then place the drive in a Windows 2000 or XP machine and your set.
