Perf. numbers alone won't sell that car.
There are plenty of cars in that price range that will match the numbers. Its gonna have to have a driving experience all its own, and at least have enough character to stand out to non-audi enthusiasts as something special.

Not to rain on Audi's parade, but once the new M3 comes out next year, we can compare the cars better. That M3 should have 400hp, and given BMWs history of being faster than Audi even with the same hp/pound, the cars may be equal in speed...but the question remains are they equal in price?
