Well I installed all my mods myself...but made a slight mistake...help!
Well guys, I'm pretty proud of myself, as small of a modification as they seem, they make a world of a difference, and best of all, I did it myself so not an expense owed on labor. Some of you might have read I was looking to have an HID kit installed and a JHM Short shifter. Well the light upgrade went perfect, lost a bit in the engine bay but found it later...that was the most of my complication.
The short shifter on the other hand was a total pain in the ***. The instructions provided kicked *** and truely got me through the entire installation. But...one mistake. The torx nut that holds the rod that the delrin bushings slight on broke in the process of me tightening it. I guess 48k miles on the car with heat and dust will do that to the bolts. So.... I'm stuck with 3 bolts holding the pair of rods on the shift box...one bolt is deep inside the box with the head that broke off. Anyway, the only way to get to it is to drill it out, or approach it from the bottom side of the car, and that requires a lift...and getting the heat shield out of the way. Since I lack that, as well as the mechanical expertise to get that bolt out, I was wondering if someone here would be willing to help me extract that bolt. I've tried a self extractor, but I just can't seem to drill a pilot hole deep enough in that damn screw to have the extractor go through. Anyway, thats my saga for the weekend. If anyone could help out, that would be awesome. I'd be willing to throw some change in there and a 6 pack of your choice. Let me know!
