Default 2.3 10v ideas

I just bought a 89 audi 90 with qauttro and a 5 speed. I looking to build a turbo motor for it. I want 300/300 and have potential for more. I have looked at 034 motorsports. Does anyone know any other I5 tuners in america, and What would be my engine code.

034 is THE I5 tuner in America. Few others bother with Audi 5s anymore. Luckily, 034 is an awesome company to deal with and they never BS or sell parts that are not proven. If you modify or even just maintain an Audi 5 cyl, you'll probably cross paths with them. If your car is an '89 I'm pretty sure it's a 10v NG engine. No matter what stock engine you have now, you need an AAN (20v turbo) to be truly happy

Default Not necessarily for the power he is after... (20vT vs 10vT)

300/300 is very obtainable with a 10vT motor which from a build perspective is a lot cheaper to get going then the 20vT brethren. But if your looking for a lot of area to grow there it'll get a bit tough after the 350hp mark. If you plan on being serious about HP above 350 the 20vT would be the way to go, reliable to extreme amounts of power (some in to the 4 digits now in sweden hahaha).

Default It's doable

Three hundred is reachable with a 10VT, but not with a 10V NA motor. The NG NA motor might be good for maybe 150ish, but it's a matter of return on investment for the gain. Stock is 140 and there isn't a whole lot for that motor to get much more out of it.

A 20V NA can be made to get about 325, but it's an expensive proposition. Not the path of choice.

A built 10VT can get you up over 300 but you start to hit a ceiling much above that.

A 20VT (AAN/3B) will start you over 200 stock and yes, upwards of 600+ is very attainable. 034 now has a kit for a 20VT with a 7A as a base motor too.

Nothing however is going to be cheap. Expect a few grand for any option you choose. And the sky is the limit. There are way's to spend an awful lot of money making a very fast car.

What is your goal for the use of this car? That'll start to guide you as to what path you should take.

I have a 7A NA motor which is built and while it's awesome, I wouldn't recommend that route at all unless you're up for a challenge. I also have a hybrid 20VT which is putting out 380 and makes me quite happy. There's room for much more, but for what I use it for, it's perfect.
