2.3 10v Running lumpy
HI, Just got a 2.3 10v Coupe 93. Sometimes has trouble starting. Once started runs lumpy and occasionally stalls when pulling up at junctions when cold.
When warm, when pulling up at junctions the revs drop to around 3/4 rpm, car struggles then picks up again and idles at 900/950 rpm
1, What is the correct rpm for the engine at idle?
2, I've replaced rotor arm, dizzy cap, leads and plugs....still the same...where shall i look now?
3, Where is the cold start valve? & idle control valve?
4, help??
Cheers guys,
Dan

ISV
Sure sounds like the ISV. Try cleaning it first then replace if no significant improvement.
Not sure which motor is in that Coupe but this is about what it looks like. Should be very close to the throttle plate in any case.

It would certainly be worthwhile to chrck all the vacuum lines for leaks and brittle spots as well.
Good luck!

Re: ISV
THanks for the info...
I've had a quick look under bonnet and found the ISV...its hiding under my inlet manifold. so will strip it all donw on sunday and give it a good clean.
I started the car and left to idle...and removed the connector to the ISV. the car's idle became even more erratic with the odd bang in the exhaust before cutting out completely.
Cheers,
Dan
