Default Upgraded alternator - which one fits?

I posted this in the 4000/CGT forum and got no response, so I figured I would try here instead.

I understand that the 110A alternator from a 5000 or a 100/200 will fit a 4KQ with no modifications. I tried one from (I think) a 200, and the mounting points were all different. Has anyone done this upgrade?

Default You'll need the cast aluminum mount from the 200, as well

Although the 110 Amp and 90 Amp alternators look similar, the pivot bolt for the 110 Amp is longer, and won't, as you discovered, bolt into the mount for the 90 Amp alternator.

You'll need a cast aluminum alternator mount from a 110 Amp alternator equipped 200. I've also seen some (not all) 100s with 110 Amp alternators. Junkyards are good sources for this part.

Both mounts will, AKAIK, bolt to any I5 engine.

I upgraded my 1988 5000CSTQ from a 90 Amp to 110 Amp alternator. It was definitely worthwhile.

Default The 90A and 110A setups, as a whole, are interchangeable.

The 5kq came with the 110A as well. So do the 90q20v/CQ cars.
