Default Any chance someone has a take-off suspension from a C5 A6 collecting dust

condition or age/mileage no concern. I am interested in a test fit to my allroad to determine if I can in the future convert the allroad to a standard suspension. I would not need to keep the suspension necessarily so if you are holding it for potential de-modding in the future I could potentially "borrow" it and return it and make it worth your while in some fashion.

I know, really random request, but what the hell.

Default Yo!!!! I have a full set of struts/springs/shocks. They are from my 2000....

.... A6 2.7T, nonsport. I don't have the rear stabilizer bar. They have about 35,000 miles on them.

Maybe I could do a parts-for-labor swap (see my post above about my failed brake job).

Default YoYo! We could work something out.

I'm a shade tree hack not a professional like Mat who has also offered to help, but I would gladly trade time for the chance to borrow your suspension. I have the HP-2 brakes on my allroad and have done a pad replacement myself at all 4 corners.

Do the suspension have value to you? Are you saving it for potential de-modding or to sell it to someone? I really don't want to own or keep a stock suspension. I really just want to be able to closely examine the geometry and potentially test fit a stock suspension to my allroad before I consider a crazy 'un-allroading' of my car. The plan would call for a full coil-over suspension and fully painted bumpers/flares to end up with a unique clean looking 6-speed twin-turbo avant.

Sway bar is of no concern as I already have the stock ones and H-Sports. The allroad design is slightly different anyway to clear the suspension compressor.

If you want to take this conversation to email hit me at the address in my sig and we'll try to work something out. For reference - I'm in Edgewater (next to Annapolis).

Default I really don't expect to de-mod the car, although it is worth keeping that an option.

It might help sell it if I can give the owner the OEM suspension. Of course, the two set-ups are so different (KW coilovers vs. OEM nonsport) that there is no person on the planet that would want both.

So, I'd be happy to let you have them without charge, but also willing to take them back when you're done.

I'm a few days away from taking delivery of a boat and I'll be keeping it at Rhode River Marina, which is in your area. So I will be in your neck of the woods.

Leave it in my court to call you when the boat delivery occurs (possibly this week).

Default Holy crap! Rhode River Marina is just a couple miles away!

What boat are you getting? I'll have my boat in the water next month. I keep it in my neighborhood marina on the other side of the Mayo penninsula.

Out on the Rhode River is where I spend much of my childhood. Good times.

Anyway - I would love the opportunity to 'borrow' your suspension components for a while. This would be perfect for me as I don't really want to buy components for the analysis/testing phase of my crazy scheme. I figured I might find someone local that had components sitting around that I could borrow. Of course I would give them back in the same condition (or cleaner!) than they were loaned.

Default Any day now, a 2003 Crownline 288BR will be coming East...

... on a truck from Lake of the Ozark, MO. It's a big bowrider, which fits my current needs (three kids). Great boat deals out there b/c they're often rack stored and only used in fresh water. No need to worry about hurricane damage.

Default I'll take you up on it if you are pretty sure you can get it done. I'd hate to waste your...

... time otherwise. In any event I'll contact you if/when I'm headed your way. I sent you an email. Reply with your contact info.

Default Nice. I have a Formula 280 Sunsport. Very similar in size/function.

The Sunsport line has a maximized cockpit for more fun in the sun. Not a bowrider though. It has a v-birth, microwave, and enclosed head and therefore qualifies as a 2nd home for nice tax deduction. w00t.
