Any Vonage users here or VoIP people here?

*raises hand* but not with vonage.
I have used phonom through cavalier telecom for the past 3 years, no major issues. with cavtel, you get DSL (dry circuit), a static ip address, and voip for about $60. No major hidden taxes. My DSL is provisioned at 10Mbps/1Mpbs and I'm consistently getting 8megs down/.9megs up.

Wait until they offer a Buy 1 year get 1 year free deal. They do it usually on holidays.
I've been with them for more than a year and you can't beat $5.30/month for all inclusive service. It's suppose to be $8.30/mo but they also give out a $3/mo credit for intl calls.

Here is my problem, or concernes.
I need to tap in to my phone system in my house becouse of the alarm, and tivo. a) how would you wire it. Would you just plug in the VOIP box in to the phone system (unplug it from the street) B) do you think it would work, with an alarm system? now I only use the alram when I go out.

they require an analog line, unless your tivo/home alarm are capable
communicating across a digital line. you will need to keep a landline. don't quote me on it because those voip service might support those things. i'd call and find out first.
