Default do you teach people to drive stick in your car?

i taught my friend and her boyfriend how to drive stick this weekend when i went to WVU. i start by teaching them how to feel out where the clutch engages by making them drive around without touching the gas. next i taught them how to apply gas while releasing the clutch. then i made them drive around for awhile (in the parking lot, not on any crazy *** WV hills). i ended the class by teaching them how to start on a hill.

it went pretty well, they got the hang of it pretty quick and rarely stalled out. i'm not afraid to let people learn to drive stick on my car.. but if they can't grasp the concept after the first couple of tries, i usually call it quits. what about you?

Default yeah, I do pretty much the same. and my lessons are almost identical to yours

my brother was the most difficult student. He stalled ou about 10X more than my sister - (bro 22, sister 15 and 9months) I never let him live it down

Default I do, but not on my Audi

On my old VWs, yes, I taught three people how to drive manuals. If I had to teach someone now, it would be on my Civic, not on my A4.

Some people just can't get the clutch though. I don't think i will be doing it again.

Default I tried to teach my wife to drive stick on my old 944 Turbo

The clutch in that thing was nasty, so she never quite got it. It took about 20 minutes for her to get the hang of the S4.

I learned on a 1988 Mazda RX-7 from my sister's boyfriend at the time. I stalled...A LOT!

Default yea...my brother...

Took him 10 mins to get the hang out it. But I'd never teach anyone else on my own car.

Of course i'd trust my twin brother right?
