I need to get my car inspected (VA). Are all places equal (no mods)? Do they all charge the same?

...and I think it's either $15-20 for the sticker.

The place I saw at Glebe and Columbia Pike was $16 for emissions and $28 for safety. So $44.

Default They were ripping you off... just go to your local gas station that has the inspection sign.
The cost is $15.00 for safety inspections for a motor vehicle. Cost for emissions is $28 maximum.
These fees are effective July 1, 2002. Got these numbers off the VA DMV and Environ. Quality sites...

Default Are you due for emissions or just inspection?
Inspection is due when the sticker on your windshield expires... emissions is due when you get paperwork from the DMV. <i>Check the middle section or bottom right corner of the registration renewal card for the following statement: "Emissions Inspection Required."</i>

I didn't realize you Virginians didn't do emissions every year. So it was only $15.
